Cam Thompson is an alt-country artist from Owensboro, Kentucky, mixing gritty storytelling, rock & roll energy, and bluegrass soul into a sound that feels classic. He’s racked up over 1 million streams, a Hollywood Independent Music Award nomination, and a live show that’s gaining momentum. He’s coming off recent releases like “Lexington” (Oct. 24, 2025) and “Wings” (Feb. 13, 2026), working on a new EP, and getting ready for a Southeast tour run.

His story doesn’t start in music, it starts on a football field. As a former football player, he didn’t pick up a guitar until he was 19, but once he did, it quickly became the thing that made the most sense.  Growing up on a mix of rock & roll and bluegrass, he naturally pulls from both, writing songs that feel real, hit a little heavy, and still have a hook you’ll be singing later (hopefully).

His passion for music shows up even more on stage. Cam has headlined major events like Friday After 5 in Owensboro, drawing over 10,000 people, and has opened for artists like Chris Young, Jimmie Allen, Elvie Shane, Ricochet, ERNEST, Ole 60, and Kentucky Headhunters. Whether fans showed up for him or discovered him that night, he will leave an impression. A huge milestone came when his “Lexington” release party was hosted at Rupp Arena’s first-ever Post Game Party, putting him on a huge stage in a pretty iconic spot.
